Cadillac takes its recent momentum to the Lone Star Le Mans on September 6, when Circuit of the Americas opens the second half of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The American manufacturer’s home event follows a two-month break. Jota Cadillac will also make a driver change for the six-hour race, with Ricky Taylor joining the lineup and Alex Lynn returning.
Cadillac gets its home opportunity
COTA offers Cadillac another chance to convert pace into a major result on home soil. Its qualifying speed has already been clear this season, including a front-row lockout at São Paulo before BMW won the six-hour race.
A different challenge awaits in Austin. The heat, elevation changes and tire demands will reward precise execution throughout all six hours, rather than a single explosive qualifying run.
Taylor brings proven experience
Ricky Taylor gives Jota Cadillac another experienced option in Texas. The American’s extensive top-class sports car background makes him a logical choice for the COTA entry.
His place in the lineup is confirmed, rather than driver-market speculation.
The change will still attract paddock attention. Each appearance provides fresh data while manufacturers evaluate future driver combinations, particularly as new Hypercar programs from Ford and McLaren move closer to the grid.
The crowded Hypercar fight resumes
Toyota leads the Hypercar manufacturers’ standings after three rounds, aided by victory for its No. 7 car at Le Mans and third place for the No. 8. BMW, Ferrari and Cadillac also begin the second half having shown race-winning speed.
There’s little margin for a quiet weekend. Any poor score at COTA will carry into Fuji on September 27, followed by the final rounds at Barcelona on October 18 and Monza on November 8.
COTA begins the closing stretch
The Texas race opens a four-event run through the United States, Japan, Spain and Italy. After the summer break, teams have fewer chances to recover from reliability problems or strategic mistakes.
Cadillac has a straightforward assignment: turn its demonstrated speed into points on September 6, before a home crowd and against a Hypercar field starting the championship’s decisive second half.
