Raúl Fernández controlled round 12 at Silverstone after taking the lead at Turn 1, beating Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi.

Fernández wins at Silverstone

Raúl Fernández led an Aprilia podium sweep at Silverstone Circuit, winning the 2026 British Grand Prix ahead of Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi.

The SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team rider finished round 12 in 39:45.930 to claim his first Grand Prix victory of the season. Aprilia Racing's Martín crossed the line 2.538 seconds later, with teammate Bezzecchi third at 3.393 seconds.

Turn 1 decided the lead

Fernández lined up second after Martín beat him to pole position by 0.021 seconds in qualifying. That gap disappeared when the lights went out.

Fernández made a sharp launch and swept past the pole sitter into Turn 1. The Trackhouse rider controlled the pace from that point and never gave up the lead.

The margin climbed past four seconds before Fernández managed the closing laps and won by 2.538 seconds.

Aprilia locks out the podium

Martín couldn't regain the place he lost at the start, but his second-place finish delivered an Aprilia Racing one-two and sealed a commanding result for the manufacturer.

Bezzecchi came under late pressure for third. He held the final podium spot and finished 0.855 seconds behind Martín, while Alex Márquez placed fourth.

A Trackhouse Aprilia finished ahead of the two factory Aprilia entries, giving the manufacturer all three podium positions at Silverstone.

Martín strengthens title position

Fernández took the full 25 points, while Martín extended his championship lead with second place. Immediate post-race reports put the Spaniard 31 points ahead after round 12.

Second place still carried major value after Martín lost the race lead at the opening corner. He outscored his principal title rivals, and Bezzecchi added another podium to Aprilia Racing's haul.

Silverstone produces another new winner

Fernández became the 12th different winner in the last 12 British Grands Prix held at Silverstone, continuing the circuit's run without a repeat victor.

The victory also gave an Aprilia satellite team a win as the manufacturer swept the podium, with Fernández converting a 0.021-second qualifying defeat into a controlled Sunday victory. MotoGP will leave round 12 with Martín holding a reported 31-point championship lead.
