Marc Marquez led Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta home at Misano, moving ahead of Jorge Martín in the 2026 MotoGP standings on countback.
Marquez controls Misano
Marc Marquez won the 2026 San Marino Grand Prix on Sunday, September 13, leading Alex Marquez and Pedro Acosta across the line after 27 laps at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
The Ducati Lenovo Team rider finished round 14 in 41:13.013. BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP's Alex Marquez followed 0.657 seconds later, with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Acosta third, 2.326 seconds behind.
Bezzecchi crashes on opening lap
Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of the lead on lap 1, removing Marc Marquez's main early threat on home ground and defining the race.
Marquez took control at the front after Bezzecchi's exit. Alex Marquez was still within a second at the finish, but the leader made no mistakes and kept track position through to the checkered flag.
Acosta completes the podium
Acosta stayed third and finished 2.326 seconds behind the winner, never getting close enough to launch a late attack on either Marquez brother.
Fermín Aldeguer climbed to fourth, crossing the line 6.027 seconds behind Marc Marquez. Jorge Martín rounded out the top five, 14.021 seconds off the winning time.
Championship lead changes hands
The win moved Marc Marquez to the top of the riders' standings with 274 points. Martín also departed Misano on 274, although Marquez took first place on countback.
Bezzecchi stayed third on 241 points after retiring on the opening lap.
Misano changed the constructors' championship order as well. Ducati moved ahead of Aprilia after reaching 412 points, with Aprilia on 410.
Another career landmark
The victory at Misano was Marc Marquez's 78th in MotoGP.
The championship resumes with Marquez and Martín tied on 274 points, while Bezzecchi goes into the next round 33 points behind the joint leaders.
