The 24 Hours of Le Mans test day offered a first glimpse of the Hypercar order, with Toyota setting the pace but Ferrari and Porsche lurking.
The Circuit de la Sarthe hummed with anticipation as the WEC field completed the official Le Mans test day, the final dress rehearsal before the centrepiece of the endurance calendar.
Toyota Gazoo Racing ended the day on top, the GR010 Hybrid finding time in the final sector through the Porsche Curves. Yet the margin was slim: Ferrari’s 499P was just two tenths behind, while Porsche and Cadillac both dipped under the 3:30 barrier.
The LMGT3 class is shaping up to be just as competitive. Heart of Racing Team and Manthey PureRxcing exchanged fastest laps in the afternoon, with the Aston Martin and Porsche separated by barely a hundredth.
With weather forecasts hinting at rain for race week, teams spent long sessions running wet-weather setups. If the test day is any indication, the 2026 Le Mans 24 Hours could be one of the closest in recent memory.
